about the center

Amedine International Citizens Center is a a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to supporting young people in developing countries by helping them have an equal opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential. Our primary goal is to raise awareness about and reduce the massive deaths from clandestine immigration by facilitating access to quality education and creating economic opportunities for youths in developing countries.

According to the UN Commission on International Migration, 5,000 Africans died in the Mediterranean Sea in 2016. The Mediterranean Sea is the most dangerous route for refugees and migrants in the world, in part because they travel on unsafe vessels with minimal or no safety or navigation equipment. People often take this risk because they are fleeing from horrendous situations, poverty or social injustice. They are seeking basic human dignity, better education and economic opportunity.

We take action by providing resources and support to young people in developing countries through education, mentorship and entrepreneurship training. We encourage them to take responsibility for their own lives, to have personal and professional goals, learn new skills and volunteer in their local communities.

Tied to our strong focus on social and economic issues, Amedine International Citizens Center also tackles challenges identified by the United Nations’ sustainable development initiatives including health & well-being and clean water & sanitation. Amedine International Citizens Center is registered and recognized in the United Nations database of initiative-based organizations, and was the winner of the GoAfrica Network’s 2016 African Union Exposition.

Our core values include service, support, involvement and advocacy:

Service
Only through serving others can we go above and beyond and be selfless as we make a positive impact within our communities.

Support
Care for our youths’ well-being and success is paramount to achieving the commitment set forth by this organization.

Involvement
Only through direct connection with our youth can we increase our opportunity to demonstrate that change takes collective effort.

Advocacy
Defending the helpless and standing up to elevate economic opportunities. Speaking out against global socio-economic injustices.

about the founder

”Should we be complacent about our challenges or act? I firmly believe the latter.”

— AICC founder Mohamed Diallo, Lawyer & SBYD Specialist

Mohamed Lamine Diallo is a lawyer, social entrepreneur, sports-based youth development specialist, and member of the National Speakers Association. Mr. Diallo made history in becoming the first native of Guinea to graduate from Northeastern University School of Law, a highly regarded institution established in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He has been an education advocate from his native Guinea to the United States where he served as Vice President of Communications at the New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (2017-2018). He is the creator of the concept ‘’The Journey FARAFINA’’ and author of the books Redefining the Citizen of the New Millennium Vol 1 & Vol 2.

Throughout his upbringing in Guinea, he witnessed countless examples of poverty—people sleeping on streets, families scavenging for food, youths working in extreme conditions and children walking miles to attend school. While devastating to witness, these profound experiences would later inspire Mohamed to start this organization. Despite his challenges, Mohamed did not lose sight of his educational and career aspirations

Therefore, the main focus of his research and activities has been directed for the past years towards finding a lasting and effective solution to stop the massive death of young Africans in the Mediterranean Sea, to promote education causes, especially girls’ education, and entrepreneurship. Through lectures, workshops, soccer lessons, and speaking engagements, he trains and mentors people, including high school and college students, to become positive social impact agents in North America, Europe, Africa and other parts of the world.

These endeavors, including speeches at local, national, and international organizations like the United Nations, granted him membership to the U.S National Speakers Association, the 1st Place Prize Winner of the 2017 African Union Exposition, and several other accolades. This organization is another fruit of his commitment to supporting positive social impact issues he cares so passionately about.

Mr. Diallo firmly believes that through the addition of a new language and culture to their identities, people rediscover themselves, find a new sense of freedom, safety, and become more than ever determined to protect human dignity. Thus, for him, learning another language and culture is a powerful tool to change the world for the better by building bridges, bringing about peace and paving the path towards a more prosperous world for everyone.
